User Login Issues

Here are a few reasons that could prevent a user from logging in...

When a user fails to login, they are presented with one of two authentication errors:

Authentication Error 201:
there is an issue with the email.

Authentication Error 202:
there is an issue with the password.

When a user runs into authentication error 202, it can be for a number of reasons. The easiest way to fix this is by resetting the password, which can be done via the login screen. Below, are a few issues that could lead to a 202 error.

1) They are incorrectly entering a temporary password. When a temporary password is generated and emailed to the user, it is a random sequence of letters and numbers. A lowercase "l" could easily be mistaken for the number "1," or an uppercase "O" could be mistaken for the number "0." This is why we always recommend that the use copy and paste a temporary password when logging in. Also, the system wont recognize a password if there are spaces before or after it.

2) Autofill. Many users have autofill programs that fill in passwords automatically whenever a certain email address is entered. These can lead to the wrong password being filled in, or an incorrect letter or space being left over from the autofill.

3) Redundancies. There are certain issues that could cause a client to have duplicate accounts. This could keep the system from recognizing a password, as it belongs with another email address for the same user. This can be fixed using the Redundancy Sniffer Tool to consolidate the accounts.
