Webmaster email verification tests

Every six months we do a verification test of your webmaster@yourdomain.org double-forward address to confirm that it is still functioning correctly. Details here . . . .

Before you can send eNewsletters on the system, we will do a verification test to confirm that your "webmaster@yourdomain.org" address has been set up correctly. After that, your "webmaster@yourdomain.org" address will be re-verified once every six months to confirm that nothing has changed. You'll know it's time to for the half-yearly verification test when you go to Manage Newsletter and you see (1) a message in a bright red band at the top of your Manage Newsletter page that says it's time for you to do a verification test and to click "here" and (2) that the "Send" link for your newsletters has been deactivated.

To verify that your "webmaster@yourdomain.org" double-forward address is still set up and functioning as it should be, just click the "here" link. This will generate a test message that is sent to your Webmaster address. This should then forward to both (1) your webmaster and (2) the mailbot address as described in the setup instructions you originally followed for your "webmaster@yourdomain.org" address.

When your half of this email arrives to your webmaster, there will be a link that they need to click to confirm/verify from your end that you have received your copy. The other half of the email will be received by our engineers. In most cases, this will be seen and acted upon within a few hours, depending on the time of day.

Once both halves of the email have been seen and acted upon, your ability to send email will be reactivated.

What if only one half of the process has been completed (i.e., you're getting a "Halfway there...." message at the top of your Manage Newsletters page)...? There are two possibilities:

1. "Your email has been verified, but we are still waiting for the mailbot at omnimagnet.com half to be verified by Magnet engineers."
If you get this message and it has been more than 8-12 hours, it probably means that we didn't get the email. At that point, please contact us by Support Tracker so that we can re-initiate the verification test.

2. There is also the case where we have received our copy, but no one has acted upon the copy that was forwarded to your webmaster--i.e., your half.
Check with whoever you believe the recipient should have been at your end to see if they just missed this message in their email in-box. If you need us to re-initiate the test, let us know by Support Tracker, and we will do so.
