Error Code 7 (when editing an article or newsletter)

Error Code 7 is a security measure . . . .

Error Code 7 is a security measure designed to prevent people from "spoofing."  It makes sure you are really publishing from the correct url. When you see this error, it means you are not accessing your site from the right server (i.e., it could be that you're coming in from either the development server or the secure server used for ecommerce transactions.)

Potential causes:

1. If you just recently switched over from the FutureMagnet server, chances are that you were still using the FutureMagnet server or may still be on the secure server immediately after having completed an ecommerce transaction (you can tell this latter case by the weblink in your address bar starting with "https" instead of "http".)

When this happens, you need to:
1a. click on the home link on your site's menu; and/or
1b. sign in again.

That will likely take care of the issue.

Be sure to confirm that you haven't created a browser bookmark that takes you to the FutureMagnet server; if you have, please change that so that you remove the "futuremagnet.com/" portion of the address. Also check your articles to see if you have created any links that might contain the "futuremagnet.com/" address piece. If you find any, you'll need to adjust those, too.

2. It may have been the case that you were just doing a purchase on your site and you are still be on the secure server (which would begin with "https" instead of "http".) If so, then just click on the Home tab on your site, and try editing the article again from there.

3. Finally, there is a version of a Symantec privacy/security product that can obfuscate some of your browser's dialog with the server. If you're using Symantec security products, this could be causing it as well; if so, make sure it is turned off.
